A Kawasaki Night

“GONE are the days when big bikes are just for stern-looking males with very manly features wearing black body-hugging shirts and military pants and accessorizing with black sunglasses. Yeah, think Arnold Swarzenneger of Terminator fame.
Nowadays, even women and the not-so macho-looking metrosexuals could ride big bikes—thanks to Kawasaki’s production of Ninja 250R, ER-6f, Vulcan 900, KLX 150 and KSR 110 motorbikes. Definitely, Kawasaki Motors-Philippines is on top of the list when it comes to leisure motorbikes,” said the dapper Mike Sy of Fishtank Productions, the event organizer of the “Kawasaki Roadgasmic Bikers Party 2010” held last November 26 at the Starr, Wheels and More Compound, Obrero Street, Davao City.
“Suit or Brute” was the required dress code, but hey, you’re in Davao so majority of the guests, including Davao’s own version of Hell’s Riders, came attired in their most ravaging brute wear. Yes, even Jan Nunez’s towering and gorgeous Glam Models headed by the fragile-looking Samantha de Leon stood clear of the beer guzzling bike riders. Why, even Mindanao Times’ prim and proper Marilyn Roque felt restrained from mingling with the macho crowd and enjoying the Starr bar’s free flowing alcoholic beverages. The Starr’s sleek interior was transformed into a “Kawasaki Krib” showcasing the latest motorbike models that night.
Kawasaki’s “Roadgasmic Bikers Party” program, which had Mutya ng Davao 2009 Resci Rizada and Manila’s King DJ Logan as emcees, started with a hot dance number from the Lady Assassins. Then the emcees called on Kawasaki Motors Philippines’ General Manager for Sales and Marketing, Teench Doval- Santos, to explain, “Why have a Roadgasm?”
“Why not? Why not surrender to your guilty pleasure once in a while? Why not experience domination on the road? Why not unchain yourselves and let loose until you climax? In the Kingdom of Kawasaki, we celebrate your passion on the road! We want nothing more but for you to experience the exhilarating feeling of surrender, domination, and climax.
Everyone here is in desperate need for a great roadgasm…and that is why tonight, we will unleash the Kawasaki secret on how an utterly satisfying roadgasm is best achieved,” Santos provocatively told the mature crowd. It was then that the new line of Kawasaki leisure bikes was unveiled to the tune of Guns and Roses’ Welcome to the Jungle to the delight of the mature guests.
Kawasaki Motors Philippines’ Brand Marketing Supervisor, the handsome and fit Kris T. Molina, also explained about the Kawasaki Krib as a brand new concept and the only one of its kind in the Philippines. The Krib is the Kawasaki Leisure Bikes showroom which Molina described as a cool place to hang out. Friendly JoeMike del Rosario, Sales Manager for Kawasaki Leisure Bikes, informed the guests that Kawasaki is presently offering a special promo—for every purchase of the Vulcan 900 Custom, clients will receive a 15,000 peso gift check from the Pearl Farm Beach Resort.
That night, Emcor President Celso Villegas, JoeMike del Rosario, and Ruby Macalintal of the Sales and Marketing Administration of Kawasaki Motors Philippines were assigned to draw the three lucky winners of either an Apple iPod Touch or an Apple iPod Shuffle.
The last VIP to be called on stage was the Japanese President and Chairman of the Board of Kawasaki Motors Philippines, Jin Inoue san. Naturally, Inoue san pointed out the advantages of owning a Kawasaki leisure bike. During my brief conversation with him in Japanese, Inoue san said that he has been to Davao a couple of times but never had the chance to go around and visit the City’s tourist spots. He claims liking the place for its cleaner environs and laidback pacing of life as compared to the highly urbanized Manila. “I hope to be able to get around and stay longer in my next visit to Davao,” Inoue san said.
The new Kawasaki motorbikes launched that “roadgasmic” night are more than just good looking. Like their other family members, the new motorbike models are “generated by power-plants that pull cleanly around town; and out-accelerate anything else in their class out on the highways, where torque rules the road.” The quality and the design of the new Kawasaki motorbikes will definitely give pride to their aspiring owners.
Now, if only we have more law-abiding bike riders in the City. Perhaps, Kawasaki should offer seminars touching on traffic rules and regulations to the bikers for everyone’s safety.
It was grueling,
heart stopping and pure hard work… but the Roadgasmic experience was well worth
it! Congratulations to the Kawasaki Team! Thanks to Mr. Kris Molina and to Mr. Erl Dionisio! Of course, to the
riders who came and partied with us, kudos to all of you! To Mr. Michael Dakudao, Mr. Kenneth Ong, Mr. Jon Develos and Mr. Ian Garcia, thanks for the support!
Until next time guys! Party on!
